(Work was so busy yesterday...so I was too tired to post. Thus, here are two today:)
"rain"
rain drives insane
when it patters its endless refrain
but is needed again and again
"irony"
the smell of iron
the color of rust
magnetic attraction
metallic repulsion
sharp bladed fascination
smooth utensils
the end of pencils
crib frames and coffin lids
irony

#10 "the show"
who do you play in the show
who do you talk with walk with and know
how do you make yourself go
where do you wake where do you grow
when do you end the show
will it ever end
when it does will it begin again
what is the reason for the show
who knows
who do you talk with walk with and know
how do you make yourself go
where do you wake where do you grow
when do you end the show
will it ever end
when it does will it begin again
what is the reason for the show
who knows

#8 "the gravity of me" & #9 "cats"
(It would seem that I did not remember to post yesterday, thus I will be posting two today.)
"the gravity of me"
the gravity of me
seems to be
finding a way to insight movement
when the situation seems to calls for standing still
aren't we all a little guilty of waiting
why is it so hard to push
probably because so much encourages us to give in
"cats"
why do I like cats more than dogs
for one thing they are sans the slobber
they fly through life with grace
yet know just how to relax
they feel good in their own skins
if they could laugh they would do so politely
they smile all the time even when afraid
if they like you they also respect you and your space
they don't beg because they know they don't have to
they are self-sufficient self-starters
they know how to fight and they know when to run away
they judge but when they do so they are usually right
they are the thinking man's pet
and yet they are so much more

#7 "the immensity of love"
immensity of love
an insensity beyond understanding
an experience we all long for
ironically something that often leaves us longing
an insensity beyond understanding
an experience we all long for
ironically something that often leaves us longing

#6 "Thoughts on Movement"
Movement forward
a reach toward something
movement backward
inching away from something else
be the change you wish to see
be the thing you wish to be
move forward
move back
move the best way you know how
a reach toward something
movement backward
inching away from something else
be the change you wish to see
be the thing you wish to be
move forward
move back
move the best way you know how

#5 "The joy of his smile"
(For my son)
The joy of his smile
As coolness passing through heat
Sweet treat and lastting relief
Then comes the tide
As wind passing through stillness
Raging clouds and thunder loud
Sucks the breath away
Steals the day away
But all worth it
All worth it
For the joy of his smile
The joy of his smile
As coolness passing through heat
Sweet treat and lastting relief
Then comes the tide
As wind passing through stillness
Raging clouds and thunder loud
Sucks the breath away
Steals the day away
But all worth it
All worth it
For the joy of his smile

#4 "Mortality"
(Mentors of my past have passed away recently. Others are quite sick. Forces one to think about their mortality)
Morality
Our reality
Ephemeral as dust
Like the fading dusk
As I reach toward twilight
I ask myself quite honestly
Where will they take my light
(Note to self: Try to write some more upbeat stuff...)

#3 "All We have is We"
(It can get lonely on an island, far way from your friends... At least I have my wife and son with me.)
All we have is we
we three is all we have
sometimes this seems good
sometimes this seems bad
but when the day is done
and everyone is gone
all we have is we
we three is all we have
All we have is we
we three is all we have
sometimes this seems good
sometimes this seems bad
but when the day is done
and everyone is gone
all we have is we
we three is all we have

#2 "the irony of man"
(Looks like the first post register on Jan 3... even though it was only 10PM on Jan 2 in my time zone. I have to remember to post earlier to avoid such problems. Anyway, here is the OFFICIAL Jan 2 post. Maybe a bit dowry because it's back to work after the holidays?)
the irony of man
is his value of curiosity
seen as a sign of intelligence
but often leading to ignorance

#1 "Holiday Parade"
Ack! Leave it to me to forget to start on Jan 1st... Well, I guess I am starting this on Jan 2 then. Here goes:
(This one was inspired by the holiday time of year--a time that can be of course joyful, as well as melancholy, and even depressing.)
burps galore
wipe the floor
holiday parade
dudes abed
chicks in red
holiday charade
kids want more
to the store!
holiday tirade
grandma's fed
grandpa's dead
holiday parade
